So I was watching Robin Williams interviews and came across something I thought was hilarious (with Robin what isn't right?), but apparently my favorite animator Chuck Jones had a friend that once said " Working with a major studio is like making love to a porcupine, it's one prick against a hundred."
I found this really funny, and wondered how true is that statement. As an animator working in the industry it sometimes feels like we shoot to strive in greatness, and once we get there our creative freedom is replaced with shackles. I don't really know much about this, I'm more curious as to why. When I see the creation of beautiful art work made by talented people, why does the business aspect seem to be what ruins it all. What's the truth about working for "Major Studios"?
I'll be honest, just once I'd like to go watch a movie, and in the credits see my name.....
