Choices...

Fri Jul 3, 2009, 5:32 AM
I always thought that by the time i graduated I would be somewhere closer to my future dream... I'm still at home.... Its been a year since i graduated.... and i still don't know what to do from here... how to i start, where do i go? I still spend four hours a day on Maya learning and progressing... I haven't really animated anything even though i am trying to be a character animator... At work I'm always modeling and texturing... at home my computer cries if i open photoshop...I need to find a way to animate...the hardest thing for me is to choose of a life i have no idea of (being an animator)... or a life I've never experienced before and I am hooked on it now (having friends). How can i make time for both? I will continue to work hard and the best i can... but I seriously need to figure out a way to animate more...

How much longer do I have to wait to get to Pixar?

  • Mood: Wow!
  • Listening to: nuttin
  • Reading: read? whats that?
  • Watching: Scrubs!!!
  • Playing: i don't have a game council :(
  • Eating: damn i'm hungry
  • Drinking: thirsty too...

Hi Irichimaru :) I have a question for you :P haha. Which software you use for 3D? Maya, Cinema 4D or 3DStudioMax? because I use Maya, but there is people who say that to work infography and all that is better 3DstudioMax, so just wondering :).
See you :).
Every software is the same. Many may work different but all software have the same concepts. Though I use maya i would say that to animated certain things for motion graphics and visual effects 3d Max has the upper hadn because of its 3d engine. 3d Max has a way better engine in terms of particles and dynamics... Although if your using realflow then either program doesnt matter. Also lighting in Max is a bit better than maya thanks to v-ray... but they did make a version of v-ray for maya.

Now anything else... animation modeling texturing and rigging.. I find easier in maya because it gives you a better work flow... unlike 3d max that everything is hidden and it take forever to model something because its work flow makes a person take extra steps. In the end it all depends on you.

Just remember the concepts are the same in every program you'll have rotates, translates, scales, keys, etc... what you can do with it is up to you....

Hope this helps

Cheers

P.S if you have any other questions regarding maya and what you can get out of it feel free to ask...:)
